Season 01 · The call begins

Detective speaking.

You wake up under guard. You can’t remember why. The phone is ringing.

You know their voices. You can’t remember their names.
A hospital wristband on white sheets. The name, date of birth and record number are smudged beyond reading.
Exhibit A — Unknown patient

You wake in a hospital bed with a police officer outside the door and gaps where your memory should be. Nobody will tell you why you’re here.

But the bedside phone keeps ringing. A night clerk. A radio producer. A stranger on the last train. Each of them has seen something, and each of them needs a detective.

So you do the one thing you still can. You listen, you ask, and you solve it out loud. And case by case, the calls lead back to the night you can’t remember.

How it works

No menus. No commands.
Just a conversation.

  1. 01

    Pick up the phone

A call comes in. A witness, a clerk, a stranger, each with something they saw and something they missed.

  2. 02

    Ask anything, out loud

Speak naturally. Follow a hunch, circle back, interrupt. They answer what you actually asked.

  3. 03

    Say what you’ve worked out

When two facts don’t fit, say so. If your reasoning holds, the case moves forward.

  • 5–10 minutes a level
  • Progress saved after every question
  • Prefer typing? Switch any time
  • Browser only, nothing to install

Questions

Before you pick up.

Do I need a microphone?

Speaking is the way the game is meant to be played, so a microphone and headphones give the best experience. If you can’t talk out loud, you can switch to typing at any moment and carry on.

Is this an AI chatbot?

No. Every character’s lines are written and recorded in advance, and every case has one true answer. Speech recognition works out what you asked; it can’t invent facts, change the story, or hand you a solution you didn’t reach.

How long does it take?

A level takes five to ten minutes, and a case has five levels. Your progress is saved after every question, so you can stop any time and pick up where you left off.

What does it cost?

The first case, Night Desk, is free. Season One costs $19.99, once: all 9 cases, including each new case as it’s released. You keep it and can replay it whenever you like. No subscription, no ads, no in-game coins.

Can I play offline?

That’s where we’re heading. We’re building Detective Speaking so the cases you own run on your own device, without an internet connection and without depending on our servers. We’ll say clearly which versions play offline as they become ready.

What happens to my voice?

Your speech is turned into text so the game can understand your question. We don’t keep recordings. We keep the text of what you said with your saved game so you can resume, and you can delete your account at any time.

What do I need to play?

A recent version of Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox on a computer or phone, and ideally headphones. Versions for Mac and iPhone are on the way.

3:12 a.m.

The phone won’t stop ringing.

Night Desk, the first case, is free. The whole season is $19.99, once, and yours to keep. All you need is a microphone and the nerve to ask.
